Welcome to the home of all things New York Jets in the UK and Ireland that is for the fans, by the fans
After months of planning, we are incredibly proud to launch uknyjets.com as a hub for New York Jets fans in the UK and Ireland. Most of you are probably here because you follow us on social media, where we are the longest running and largest Jets fan community outside of the US. For so long, we have operated solely as a collection of social media pages, however, February 2023 marks the date that we go to the next level.
Following on from our most successful season as a group, and continued work with the New York Jets as they expand their presence in the UK, we are aiming to build on our successes by creating the best fan experience possible across the pond. So, we are presenting to you, the first ever, formal UK and Ireland New York Jets Fan Club!
If you are interested in being a part of the best Jets fandom across the pond, please read on to find out more about who we are, what we have been up to and what this new website is all about. We are always open to feedback, suggestions and questions so please do not hesitate to reach out - after all, we are for the fans, by the fans!
Who are we?
We are the first formal New York Jets Fan Club to be based in the UK and Ireland! With events, competitions, merchandise, content and exclusive access to the Jets, we are dedicated to connecting fans this side of the Pond. We invite everyone to join and contribute to the community that we are trying to create.
Originating from a Twitter account created in the Summer of 2014, we quickly rose to become the largest UK Jets social media page. We have since grown from strength to strength, connecting thousands of fans across all social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok) whilst working with THE New York Jets and their expansion into the UK. We have been lucky enough to work with incredible organisations over the years, from the New York Post and Associated Press to the BBC and TalkSport, proudly representing the ever-growing group of New York Jets fans in the UK and Ireland.
Our soon-to-be established Fan Club offers an organised way to enjoy the Jets with fellow fans. The committee (Sebastian, Olivia, Kingsley, Aron and Marc) strive to facilitate the best fan experience possible in the UK and Ireland.
What have we been up to?
The 2022 season was exciting, frustrating, promising, sad and memorable, both on & off the field. It was however, without a doubt, our most notable year as a group. The best thing about the 2022 season was the company that we kept and it was clear to see that the British and Irish Jets community has grown significantly at our 3 events in London and Leeds which were attended by over 100 people (despite the Jets losing at all 3 events).
We had the chance to work with some great people across the NFL UK community with the highlight certainly being the opportunity to interview Nick Mangold on the hallowed turf of MetLife and creating a tailgating guide with the New York Jets! Furthermore, we were privileged to host the Associated Press at our event in London whilst also working with 888Sport throughout the season.
It was also a fantastic year for what is our bread and butter, social media. We received over 2 million impressions across our platforms since the beginning of the season and gained around ~1,000 new followers. We were able to go "viral" a number of times, especially on TikTok which since launching in mid-November, has had over 500k views.
We are very proud of what we achieved in the 2022 season and the launching of this website is the cherry on the cake, to end the season in style and set us up for an even more exciting future!
What is this new website?
After months of planning, the website is finally here. The primary purpose of this website is to serve as a hub for fans of the New York Jets in the UK and Ireland. We will be showcasing fan-led content, events and merchandise all whilst engaging and collaborating with as many members of the UK and Ireland Jets ecosystem as possible, such as content creators and independent businesses, to ensure that fans have a central hub of all things Jets this side of the Pond.
The website will also serve as the home for the UK and Ireland New York Jets Fan Club which we will be launching very soon. Prospective members will be able to sign up through the website and have access to the following perks:
